Easy Father's Day Crafts for Kids

Father’s Day is just a couple of weeks away, and we’re sure your little ones are eager to make the perfect gift for their dad, granddad, or any other father figure! Well… even if they aren’t, we’re betting Dad would love nothing more than a personal, handmade gift from his kiddos. At Baby Smiles Labels, we want to make every part of parenting easier, so for this blog, we’re going to look at an easy, fun craft that your kids can make for their old man!

The Perfect Desk Addition for Dad

Everyone could use more plants in their life, and this Father’s Day craft is a great way to help Dad practice his green thumb. For this craft, we’ll be making a toy dinosaur planter. It’s an easy, fun, versatile gift that Dad is sure to love! Here’s what you’ll need:

  • An old dinosaur toy (hollow and preferably made of rubber – really any hollow, rubber toy will work
  • Soil
  • A plant of your choice (succulents are perfect)
  • Optional: spray paint

To start, cut a round or oval hole in the back of your dino toy. It should be large enough to accommodate whatever plant you plan to use for the project. Once you’ve got your hole cut out, you can either spray paint the dino to a color of your choosing or leave it ‘au naturale’ – whatever you think Dad would like best. Once the paint is completely dry, fill the body of your dino with soft soil and plant your succulent (or any other plant) right into the hole in his. Water it to wash off any excess dirt, and viola! You’ve got an easy, fun gift that will look great on Dad’s desk.
